Managing Dashboards on a Nominode

Dashboards are highly configurable interfaces to display visual information from one or more Tasks in a single location.

Creating a Dashboard

  1. Click on Dashboards in the middle of the left hand navigation menu of your Nominode.
  2. Use the Project Select field at the topic of the Dashboards page to specify which Project* your Dashboard will be associated with.
  3. In the drop down menu next to the Dashboard field in the middle of the Dashboards page, click on the (+ Create New Dashboard) option.
  4. Add a name and, optionally, a description in the Create Dashboard dialog.
  5. Click the Create button.
*Projects are discussed in more detail in the Nominode Permissions Overview support document.  Steps to create a new Project are also available.

Adding a Widget to a Dashboard

  1. Click on Dashboards in the middle of the left hand navigation menu of your Nominode.
  2. Use the Project Select field at the topic of the Dashboards page to select the Project your Dashboard is associated with.
  3. Use the drop down menu next to the Dashboard field in the middle of the Dashboards page to select your Dashboard.
  4. Click on the Unlock button in the upper right hand corner of the Dashboard section, if your Dashboard is currently locked.
  5. Click on the (+ Add Widget) button in the upper right hand corner of the Dashboard section.
  6. Use the Widget Title field to specify a name for your Widget.
  7. Use the Widget Type field to select one of the widget types.
  8. If you selected the Latest Task Result widget type, a Task field will appear below the Widget Type field.
  9. Use the Task field to select a Task that has produced the information that you want to display.
  10. Click on the Create button in the Widget Wizard dialog.
  11. Repeat the steps above to add more Widgets to your Dashboard, if desired.
  12. All Widgets changes on an unlocked Dashboard are immediately saved.  There is no need to click the Save button.

If you are using the Latest Task Result widget, ensure that you have successfully executed a Task that produces results that can be displayed on a Dashboard, otherwise the list of choices under Task will be empty.

Modifying a Dashboard

  1. Click on Dashboards in the middle of the left hand navigation menu of your Nominode.
  2. Use the Project Select field at the topic of the Dashboards page to select the Project your Dashboard is associated with.
  3. Use the drop down menu next to the Dashboard field in the middle of the Dashboards page to select your Dashboard.
  4. Click on the Unlock button in the upper right hand corner of the Dashboard section, if your Dashboard is currently locked.
  5. Click and hold the cross hair icon (┼) in the upper right hand corner of a Widget, then drag to move Widget to another location on your Dashboard.
  6. Click and hold the caret icon (┘) in the bottom right hand corner of a Widget, then drag to resize the Widget.
  7. Click the red X icon (x) in the upper right hand corner of a Widget to remove it from the Dashboard.
  8. All Widgets changes on an unlocked Dashboard are immediately saved.  There is no need to click the Save button.
  9. There is currently no way to change the name and description of an existing Dashboard.
  10. There is currently no way to change the name and other properties of an existing Widget.
  11. There is currently no way to recover a Widget that was accidentally removed.  It has to be recreated.

Deleting a Dashboard

  1. Click on Dashboards in the middle of the left hand navigation menu of your Nominode.
  2. Use the Project Select field at the topic of the Dashboards page to select the Project your Dashboard is associated with.
  3. Use the drop down menu next to the Dashboard field in the middle of the Dashboards page to select your Dashboard.
  4. Click on the Unlock button in the upper right hand corner of the Dashboard section, if your Dashboard is currently locked.
  5. Click on the Delete button in the upper right hand corner of the Dashboard section.
  6. Click on Yes in the Confirmation dialog.
